Our bees are a genetic mix of European and Russian Honey Bees. We manage our colonies to be as genetically diverse as possible and raise many of our own queens. We work to keep each hive as healthy as possible and we are deliberate and diligent in learning about honey bee health.
We keep our bees in several locations in northwest Montana. The wide open landscape and diverse plant populations provide good forage for the bees. We visit each of our bee yards at least once every two weeks to check on the bees and since this is northwest Montana, we are always concerned about predators such as skunks and bears.
